Richard Caldwell is Director of Originations at Avatar Financial Group LLC (Avatar), operating out of Northern California. He is responsible for originating and underwriting commercial real estate loans and supporting the firm’s national platform growth. Richard brings over 25 years of experience in real estate finance, fund management, and banking, with deep expertise in structured lending and joint venture equity across a wide range of property types. Prior to Avatar, he was Chief Lending Officer at Extensia Financial and EVP & Chief Lending Officer at Pacific National Bank, where he oversaw more than $2 billion in real estate loans. He was also a founding partner at Buchanan Street Partners, managing operations in key western U.S. markets. Earlier in his career, he served as a Corporate Account Officer at Bank of America. Richard holds a Master’s in International Business Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a B.A. from the University of Oregon.
